Rough Rider

The Rough Rider is modelled after an American Desert Racer. Malcolm Smith & Bud Feldkamp ran the Funco made desert racer you see on these pictures, and they did it successfully for many years. Although the Tamiya model below is painted red, there is little doubt that the below real car stood model for the Rough Rider, because Tamiya included stickers/decals to dress up the Rough Rider in the blue Bel Ray livery.

The Funco buggy pictured here still exists and are taken out for a spin from time to time.
