This Tamiya Racer is obviously copied from an original Williams F1
racer, the FW11B model.

The
Williams FW11 proved to be the fastest car on the grid in the 1986 season
but it was let down by its poor reliability. Driver Nigel Mansell ended
runner-up in the driver's championship. For the 1987 the problems were
ironed and the modified car was named FW11B.

With
the problems out of the way there was no stopping the Williams duo Nigel
Mansell and Nelson Piquet. Eventually Piquet won his third championship
even though with 6 victories Mansell had won twice as many races he ended
the season as runner-up again.
