MkI... or maybe not. I'm not sure. There's another deviation :

Besides the diameter of the hole when the diff pin goes :

Anybody recognise the top/left axle?
I switched them at the last moment for the ones I had already selected because they looked prettier.

You have here the2 types of axles. One is the first release of grasshopper diff and the other comed with the lunchbox ;)

Don't you think it's from a Grasshopper 2, Flo?
I have a parts lot here with a bunch of axles, of which about half has the larger hole.
Weirdest thing is that hardly any of the axles are the same.
Quite the conundrum, I had no idea there are so many variations...
As long as I put the correct ones in the gearbox this time, it's alright though.

As I was going through stuff from the Clunes haul I Came across this 1 shaft, after checking your build I know where its from  You can have it too (for free+post) if you like :y: It's no use to me......

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem mate :)

Cheers, Andy. Thanks for the offer, I'm good on axles for a couple o' decades though. :silly:

But notice the variety in the lengths of the threaded ends :

I can only imagine they must all be for different cars.

Edit - well, not all but four at least...

Making the right spacers for the rear axle (so it's all centred) :

Using Grashopper springs on the Frog shocks (thanks, Jonny) - and rear axle springs shortened by four coils :

Works but by a fraction of a millimeter with the 540 motor on it, practically it will be fine :

It is only at full stroke of the Frog shocks, while the rear axle is still at it's lowest point that it touches the lower lid of the bracket. I'll slightly adjust the design for a possible MK.II though (but that'll be another car)...
