Finaly arrived today, not so bad looking compared to Eddrick M38 basket case.
Got some 'borrowed' parts on it that will have to go and will be replaced by original T stuff. Tires are pretty much gone, rims are still looking fine. First is to try to get it in bits and piece without ruining to much screws. |

Guess these shocks are some cheap blue C parts, no idea.
Finished taking apart Upper left, the usual DF01 parts, rear gear cover is still in one piece Center, nice, three different drive shafts , wheels axles are shot, loads of wear will be replaced by hardened cr01 ones (or universals), a small collection of 'alien' screws. Body is in fine shape, paint isnt realy sticking, maybe will have a go at it with some DOT3 Bottom right, the holy grail of DF01 (ok runner up, evo carbon takes first), FRP, FRP mounting thingies, J parts, hollow gear shafts etc.. Close up of the FRP mounting thingies Anybody an idea were to find the black plastic J12 part in aluminium, I have seen a build somewhere were somebody replaced it. next up is cleaning |

ordered a JPL ultra 6050, no more scrubbing? next on the wishlist are - a compressor, an as189 or alike - an triplex airbrush - and some personal protection (due to the weather not much chance of painting outside |

I have to admit, "JPL" sounds quite cool - sounds more "Jet Propulsion Laboratory" than "James Products Limited" I'm curious though, what extra/fewer features does the 6050 have over the 7000? I would guarantee no more scrubbing though - I've been sometimes been surprised by what gets taken off, and what gets left behind; nothing seems to take off ground in aluminium pinion sludge I've found washing up liquid is best for plastic parts, and seaweed based specialist cleaner for metal parts - you do need to put in a very strong solution of both, and wahs & dry afterwards; and don't mix types of metal / coatings unless you want some peculiar electroplating effects |
