Hi guys,

Another car in my craziness for the direct drive chassis... :silly:
This build is the natural progress after the Group C that I hopped up :

And brought back to the basic condition again to make it a shelfer :

Some of the upgrades could very well be used on the next car - a custom carbon F102 with Group C and F103 parts on it :

A few parts on the car came from the project in this thread - a 58229 F103RS Toyota GT-One :

This one I'll try to make the ultimate hopped up version in the line... and then I'll switch to other kinds of builds again.
I have some very nice parts for it here already or coming this way. It'll be propelled by an (17t) Acto-Power Formula :

Very nice... I got that as a gift with the F102 parts. :cheer: Guess what colour the theme of this build will be?
The sticker doesn't look great anymore so it'll be all blue...
There's even a new chassis for it but I think I'll restore the one that was run. As I want to run it too!

Among other things an alloy (adjustable) motor heatsink and a blue TRF special damper - with optional black spring. B)
There's a pivoted battery holder for it too - and this 0.4mod racing spur by Kawada :

I fear I have to hold myself back for this one to not get too crazy.

Soon to be continued...

The biggest difference I have in mind for this car (compared to the previous builds) will be the front suspension.
On a Group C and F102 the setup can only be rigid, so there's no (official) way to adjust camber or caster.

Source
Normally this isn't possible on an F103RS either but I have a plan for that. B)
Wheel base on this one is the same (260mm) as a short Group C or F102.
So the options for fitting another body shouldn't be that much of a problem either...

The earliest idea was to go for an F103GT setup, with blue alloy. :woohoo:
But that turned out to stretch the budget way too much...
Luckily the price tag on regular F103 parts is in a whole different range.
Even for blue lightweight items.

:cheer:

First of the hop ups has arrived! :woohoo:
I was thinking about a titanium rear axle on this car but decided otherwise on the advice of Rakuda. :y:

Oh my, the postman came twice today because I found hop up number two in the mail! :cheer:
This one's awesome. In combination with the optional F1 link-type suspension, camber and caster can be adjusted. B)

Pretty ultimate I'd say - a hop up for your hop up! :woohoo:
Replacing the normal screws in the aluminium upper arm set with titanium :

Still waiting on other parts to arrive...

Have a look at Mardave V12 & how the banger boys get around camber & caster adjustment. I've got bits of a Hirobo Rock-n-City kicking about & the caster adjustment on that is a circular block on the C-hub that can be rotated in a split clamp (Similar to Tornado?).
Have you got the measurements for that hub yet?

I'll have a look at the Mardave.
3Racing also has a different setup for the F103GT and F103RM.
I could have used the suspension from that last model too but Japanese hop ups are just too cool...

I've had to turn the whole house upside down for upcoming construction work so I've been a bit preoccupied.
But I'll get back on the hub dimensions soon. :y:
