Blackfoot restoration 11 years 5 months ago #14652

Hello,

As mentionned before, i finally got a Blackfoot. Unfortunately the body appeared to be in a better shape on the seller's pictures !
After a complete clean up of the chassis i put all the parts in a box and decided to start with the body first as there is still lot's to do.

At the beginning i wanted to paint it "box art"....But whilst looking for a Blackfoot through internet i saw how good it looks in white with red decals. So i changed my mind, and this one will be white ;) ;)

This is how it should be once finished

As you can see the body has suffered a bit from the roll overs... :silly:

Nice project! Like you wrote in your other thread, the spur looks totally stripped.

Other than that the car seems to be in pretty good condition. Nothing that can't be fixed at least. :)

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem mate :)

The silver Blackfoot looks awesome!! If I ever get one I would paint it silver after seeing these pics. Good luck with the resto :y:

Hi Stingray,

Thanks for your advice.
As far as i can remember i only had to change the diff once since i'm running my "Runner Monster beetle" and this is mainly caused by the technigold motor i have put it in.
Of course it hasn't that much running time and besides that this Blackfoot will mainly stay on the shelf and will be driven mainly in-house.

Thanks again

Hi Andy,

It looks awesome in grey too ! But i think i won't change my mind...you'll see the result once i finished repairing the body.
I'll post more pics tonight of the ongoing work on the body.

Thanks for looking

The body looks like it's basically all there, so with a lot of sanding & filling should look quite good :y:

 Mine ran only with a stock 540 and when I bought it, the diff was six feet under . Like crouikkrouikkouik
This problem was recurent on the monster beetle, blackfoot and their children.
PS I love in white and in grey.
I regret to mount mine in black with a poor blue repro decals sheet.
