Dampersleves - rubber or plastic? 5 years 2 weeks ago #54732

Hi guys. I have an old Thunder Dragon, that I just bought a new Fire Dragon shell for, aswell as the Fire Dragon damperstay.

But now I have a problem that the Droop (I think ist called) is way to big/much. So I thought about making less dampertravel and thereby getting less droop (I don't know how to adjust droop on a car this old).
I have seen pictures of manuals where there they install a sleeve inside the damper. What material should that be - I'm guessing rubber or plastic, but what do you use?

Hi Peter, I like to use nitro fuel line in mine :) It gives a bit of cushioning on the down stoke unlike the plastic pieces.

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem mate :)

Thanks for your replies.

I found a little piece of rubberhose which look like the picture of the nitro fuel line. And that fitted the shafts perfectly, so I installed that in the dampers. First quick test drive was promising so I'm looking forward to a real test next weekend.

Cheers

You should remove the spring spacer. There's no travel left in the spring as it's now.
