Red rear arms? Mine was full black

There was actually few versions of the CJ-7...

The CJ-7 existed in Black and White. The black was having red arms while the white was having black one. Many people changed the red ones by black because it looked like a toy for them with the black parts... At that time, the Land cruiser were having grey parts for the arms. Ultimately, many of the cars we can find today are anyway mix and matches from parts and different kits...
 

My cj was fully original and full black chassis. And the body was white painted in layet blue. I used ww2 roll bar and pilot to restore it.

Did you got it nib and built yourself?
My Big Bear was also pretended to be a fully original one: it was not. It had a 6V chassis which means it was a Big Bear body on top of a Super wheelie chassis... Unless you got it nib and built yourself, there is no way you can confirm its 100% as per what was in the box... The black body came always with red arms... Some swapped them for black right away, some later on... And when you see a land cruiser with red arms, that means the body was swapped... 

I'm sure it was original. A friend offered it to me and he ran only a little it and kept it in the loft. It had the dustproof msc and cuted but probably 7,2 v chassis same if I had the connector adaptor 

As said : CJ-7 white body >>> black arms, CJ-7 black body >>> red arms...

The crystal set that I ordered for my ADSPEC Plus arrived, and I'm happy to report that it works great now!
I just need a worthy model to install and run with it.

Hmmm . . . This sure is a thing of beauty:
