Please identify this body on a Manta ray 10 years 2 months ago #27380

hello,
In search for a different body for my Manta ray, I came across this picture.
I have searched for a while now but I can't seem to identify this body.
Has anybody got any idee?

Hey mate, I'm not exactly sure but I was instantly thinking Kyosho Optima ?? after market body ??
If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem mate :)

I can't identify it as a kyosho body (it looks a little like a optima turbo), so I gues it is aftermarket.
thanks for the reaction!

 You have here a nice melting pot. Some decals from kyosho, a TA01 chassis, a set of hop up rims, and boomerang tires. Some terra scorcher upper rods.
If you want to make a stock MR, you can buy a TBG body and wing set.

It could well be a RACECRAFT Manta Ray bodyshell , tough as old boots as they were very cheap at around 6 pounds a time, made of fairly thick polycarbonate getting round any copyright issues by being this boxy shape, a few of my mates ran them at clubs in 1991/92.

Thank you very much.
I love the boxed look!
Getting hold of a Racecraft body will be difficult though.
It appears the company stopped making body's a while ago.

I had a similar mystery a while back...
That bulge is so specific that it must be meant for a DF-01 :
