That soldering machine looks like an awesome tool. Can it also join tubing to make a roll cage for example?

Some gadgets I would like to get in the (hopefully) near future... a feeler gauge :

With this it would be much easier to determine what sizes shims are needed...
Also on the wish list is a digital caliper :

Bit by bit collecting every cool tool one could need to make the builds as smooth as possible.

:)

Those cheap generic Chinese 150mm units are actually pretty good - apart from the batteries, which fail & leak very quickly, so I'd suggest buying decent branded cells (size is LR44) at the same time & sending the ones supplied with the gauge for recycling immediately :S

Thanks, good to know. They are quite affordable I must say. :)
We have a store here called "Action" where you can actually get a bunch of the batteries for a few dimes...
No doubt they come from a similar Chinese factory but they've done well so far.

One of my wishes has already been fulfilled!

Not this one exactly but similar...

I used to have one for adjusting the valves on my 'ole Toyota Tercel but that got lost along the way...
Remembering I bent the thin blades in the past - but now I got a shiny new one.

:cheer:

Anywho - a great tool to check the tolerances on your setup.
It has already told me I need to do more shimming.
The vertical tolerance between the front knuckle and C-hub on my DF-01 is an untolerable 0.35mm!

It sure can with ease.
That's the frame and battery box/rear fenders for a Damascus LiL Mac I'm making in 1:5.5 scale.
I love my cheap digital calipers. Defiantly replace the battery first thing.

Wow, a tool like that (and the necessary skill of course) certainly offers great possibilities. Nice work! :y:

It doesn't take much skill. Just practice, good measuring devices and practice.

had a look at the american beauty website, that are some interessting tools they have.
Beermeister, can you write us something about this soldering tool, maybe with some pictures and info on what kind of materials you use this and how we/you can apply this on our hobby.

like for electronics or making frames

you can leave out the prices ;)
