The front-wheel drive M-01 and rear-wheel drive M-02 chassis are symmetrical; Depending on where you mount certain parts, they can be converted from one to the other.

The chassis I have is a 239mm M-02L and I want to convert it to an M-01 with the same parts.

Hubs, steering arms, bumpers and body mounts need to be removed and swapped.

The wheels shafts are also swapped:

the "M-01L" already assembled:

The steering servo rod needs to be lengthened as the servo is now located behind the battery. For this I have used some electronic circuit board spacers that also had the same thread as the rod:

thats pretty cool. Is there any other m-chassis that can be swapped like that? Or did they change too much after the M-03 chassis

yes that is right.there are more type's around that are using the same body. nikko / radio shack

I am doing the same thing with the porsche 935 nikko body's combining them (hybrid) with onroad 1:12 scale race chassis

or lightening mcqueen

also for diy crawlers

Big bear datsun is also a cool one for the m chassis

Do you remember the Mattel reference for your 1/12 McQueen car?

I have a project to mount the Mattel FBN52 toy body on a 1/10 truggy or 1/8 car.
The body has; length 50cm, width  25cm , wheelbase  29cm.
