This would be a great time to learn Stingray's suggestion has the great merit of being something you can do with whatever (suitable) cans of paint you have lying around - in facr, the more the colours clash, the better - lay down coats of something plausibly "metal" coloured (red oxide primerm or some sort of silver), then yellow, red, green, blue, black, whatever - then very gently sand with 1200 grit (or finer) to reveal the layers. Result: one scabby looking truck with a history The "hairspray method" (article somewhere on the site) takes "scabby" to a whole 'nother level. Can't say I've tried either method, the weathering/aging I've done has been a bit less extreme. based on what i've tried, the best example I could show you would probably my "scale" re-re Scorcher shell: basically primer, followed by colour (in your case I'd add a dusting of white, concentrating on the top surfaces) & sanding back - including the decals |

Yes it's true I could try something new using the method you suggested.
But this is something that has never been done before, I would not want to ruin all the work done up to here. Being a "commercial" van, I will certainly do it a little damaged, but without going too far. I thank everyone for the excellent suggestions are very welcome. |

Very Cool! Make sure to weather the wheels/tires as well.
