hi...i'm trying to make mi own version of the rough rider bodyshell which is inspired by the bob maynard racing buggy.
have cut off some of the panels..to make it look longer...narrower...and lower....
added a panel as well....

I built a "basic" Bel Ray Bullet a while back, I know it's not the same car but it had a similar starting point.

I call it "basic" because I wanted to keep the standard SRB radio box & didn't alter the rear suspension.

I've attached a pic, not because I want to be that guy that wants to make every thread/post about themselves, but because I wanted to show that trimming 10mm or so off the sides and nose makes it look a lot less portly & the gaps look ok.

...replaced the pastic front roll bar with a steel one...lengthened the front nose....added a panel at the side window to make it taller....

....since the bodyshell will be lower....drilled new mounting holes at the roll cage....

...bodyshell is primered...and the new wheelbase is almost as long as my losi 2wd buggy...



...still needs more puttying...

......sanding the shell...and primering the shell to check for smooth surface...

......fabricated the aluminum roof....

.....fabricated the side roll bars and test fitting them....

Nice work :) The shape of the front nose reminds me of the Dodge Charger Daytona or the Plymouth Superbird :P

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem mate :)
