So while back I got this very sorry looking cossy for a very good price and it had a box as an added bonus, I do like boxes :S

The body had been butchered badly front and back the cockpit was the worst bit of artwork you have ever seen and it’s got a sad set of wheels :(

The chassis and mechanics and electrics were in a good state tho, so not all bad :)
By chance a couple of weeks later when buying kyosho stuff, as I was leaving the bloke said “you like ya tamiya stuff don’t ya, this might interest ya” well I had to have a look and this is what he produced

What where the chances of that, I couldn’t believe my luck an also got it for a very good price :) :y:
So now I had the basics to make a car again :y:

I think that it is the rarest escort.
With its stock wheeles you received yesterday, it will be a beauty. :y:

I am only using the tyres off the QD wheels I got yesterday, so there is a set of brand new f and r QD rims for sale in the bags with labels and spare spanner’s and bearings and nuts :)
I already got the cossy rims off a bloke in Spain before I realised they were an odd size and tyres seemed very rare /S

You’ve got to love a beautiful coincidence like that. Nice.

Next step was to see if the cockpit could be saved, it was quite nauseating to look at :S

So off into the barrel of brake fluid with it :y:

Quite a cocktail, all that’s missing is the umbrella
So here it is :)

While the brake fluid was doing its job I decided to tackle the sanded out windows on the body shell

My work was definitely gunna be cut out here, they had been sanded within an inch of their lives with 240 grit I think

To sort the windows out I did it in five stages
Stage1: 500 grit wet and dry
2: 1000
3: 1500
4: 3.75 micron rubbing paste (cerium oxide)
5: Jewellers rouge rubbing paste
And six hours later, this was the result :)

Not perfect but surprised how well it turned out
