Dying hornet wheels 4 years 10 months ago #55358

Hi, last night I tried to dye the wheels of my hornet black but rit dye I used made absolutely no effect on the wheels.
I left them simmering for over an hour & they still look perfectly white.

Are they the wrong kind of plastic for dying?

Cheers.

I guess you just answered your question, iirc hornet rims are abs not pa or nylon and as such don't absorb dye. You will have to paint them the normal way.

badword, I knew something was wrong.
I was hoping not to spray them because they'll get chipped up Racing it around.

Anyway, thanks.

I've sprayed them with Poundland paint, they look OK I guess. :)
