58039 Willy's Wheeler build from new 4 years 6 months ago #56576

Hi all,

I found this Willy's not long time ago on a local ad..

It's completely new, the chassis has only been partially build that's y i do not consider it as NIB. The box looks just perfect it has only some minor scratches, the manual and decals are in excellent condition and like i sait everything is completely new.

I just couldn't resist and started to build it…

This is how i got it :

So i started the assembly according the manual.

First step putting everything together on the chassis:

Working on the steering and on the front suspension

Front suspension assembled and installed together with the bumper

Next step are the installation of the electronics. I found a complete set of period correct servos and reciever...but i still have to find a switch

Working on the MSC with the servo

And finally installed everything

Nice find.
It's funny how someone barely starts something then just gives up and leaves it for 30 or so years.

Yeah thanks Al…
I just can't understand how someone can forget such a kit for about 20-30 years and suddenly decide to sell it:ohmy:

anyway, i'm happy that such guys still exist...so we (the passionate ones) can grab'em for a fair price

I wonder what happened in case like this- unwanted gift they simply couldn't be bothered with? Really incompetant (or genuine dexterity issue)? Bought to keep occupied during retirement/illness & died soon after?

Indeed - the bar to protect the radiator from damage from hitting the kangaroos that run across the road at night in sububan Japan ;)
