Hi there, I don't have one of those pinion setting parts only a Hot Shot version. It doesn't have the raised top on it but I can tell you it is 7mm high and 2mm thick. Usually when I have to set he pinion on the motor and cannot see the meshing, I use and small ruler to measure form the far side if the gear to the gearbox housing where the motor mounts and go from there.
If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem mate
