So I’d run out of the correct nuts and bolts for the wheels. So I finally managed to find some which wasn’t as easy as I’d have thought.

So tonight I finally got the last wheel together.

And all together.

So today I also tried something new, I had a broken off screw, so it needed drilling out.
I feel like I’ve drilled out most of what is there, but nothing is shifting.
Over the weekend I’ll get the next couple of sizes up and try again. I’m prepared to sacrifice the arm, but I’d like to re-use the shock tower and shaft.

I managed to drill out a broken off screw, it’s the first time I’ve done this and I’m happy I could re-use the shock tower and front arm shaft.

After several weeks of hard work building a patio!!
Today I wanted to get the Super Champ to a roller.
With the front end sorted it didn’t take to long.

And I popped the body on. I’m glad I did, it’s clear the roll bar isn’t sitting right by the looks of things. The whole car needs a check over now it’s all in one piece.
Any way hopefully I can actually start getting some paint on this. All I need is one can. I’ve got primer and all the little pots to paint up everything else, there’s no real excuse not to get cracking with this.

The whole point was just to get the chassis altogether, so success there. It’s a dry build so at some point I need to put oil in the front shocks and look at connecting up the rear oil bottle although I know that’s pretty much guaranteed to leak.
The gear box I’m considering putting a ball diff into which is why I didn’t build it properly with everything greased.
I need to put the rest of the radio gear in so I can test the speed controller.

Now I get to live with the car for a bit and see what I can improve.

Your body fitting is 100% right :y:

I seem to remember some discussion about SRB rollbar differences, I suspect yours is the wrong type rather than being bent or fitted incorrectly ...

Thanks Jon. The roll bar that came with this had a part broken off where one of the screws goes in. I just assumed the roll bars were all the same a got a replacement from my spares. I’ll dig out the old one and compare them.
Thanks for the info.
