Cheers Flo. I’m relieved, this looked like a potentially easy resto, so I’m glad it’s all come together. Fixing the body on really did bring if all together.

I really like the super champ. I never tried mine but it's too nice. And I'm fan of the srb.

I knew a couple of things weren’t as good as they could be on the Super Champ. One being the springs on the front arms. They are just knackered. I had a few spares, so today I put some stronger springs on. I also replaced the wheel locking nuts for some new shiny ones. And I’ve ordered a new grey bumper to finish this off, back to the original. Attachments:

Today fitted a ball diff to the Super Champ. In all seriousness this probably won’t get run much, but you never know. I’ve got a couple of these ball diffs, one was going to go in a Sand Scorcher runner. As this was probably supposed to be the best of the SRB’s it only seemed right to put the diff in the Super Champ. I think it needs a bit of a tinker, I’m not totally convinced I’ve got it set up right. And last but not least the grey bumper went on. Which finishes the car off. Body work still to do. I think I might start on the driver and small bits like the lights next weekend. Just to get myself back into painting. Attachments: |
