Got some aerosol colours on all the outstanding bits today - Satin Black, on the coffins, Ford Sierra Beige (because I just could be bothered to airbrush that much XF Buff) on the canoes & sleds to start.
I had planned to switch to using 400ml cans of AA Van Yellow & Post Office Van Red for generic yellow & red duties, but found old, part used 150ml cans of VW Mars Red & Fiat Broom Yellow & thought I'd give them a try on the trollies & road cones respectively. I think the phrases "very low pressure", "super splattery", "sags & runs" and "worst orange peel ever" sum up the results, though I'm hoping they'll look better after a good long cure time & weathering later on It just feels really wasteful to throw paint away, but I think in some cases it might be better to. Testing old can on a bit of scrap first (rather than the actual article) would have given me the option ...

I've been meaning to redo the illuminated sign portions of the TARDIS ever since I got the vinyl cutter - I had to omit the "PUBLIC CALL" bit in the middle as it was just too small to cut properly, but overall I think it looks better
Apologies for the camera shake in the "dark" pic, I do do have a tripod but I couldn't be bothered I thought I'd found all of the dodgy batch of Duracell "Industrial" AA cells, but apparently not I didn't look here because I remember powering this with a 9V battery Attachments: |

This weekend I have been mostly painting Wild Willy drivers (not finished yet) and some of te scale bits that have been sitting for the the last few months ...
Started by dry brushing at least 4 different "grain" colours of the bits I wanted to look like wood: Followed by a wash of Buff: 2 coats of Clear Orange brushed on took nearly 4 10ml jars Also worked on the trollies - painting the rolled edges of the shelves seemed like a good idea, but TBH I've done it so poorly they would have been better left red Attachments: |
