Crikey - carving a driver figure from solid is hardcore

I'm intrigued by this "Komacell" (PVC foam board) stuff - looks much easier to shape, form, texture & detail than styrene & looks like you could get a decent finish with it too ...

:woohoo: Jonny you have a chalenger. I had a similar plastic sheet. Very easy to form and like foam in the centre but I dont know that we can make a so nice work with that

If it just had soft foam in the middle that would be "foam board", e.g.

This on the other hand is PVC foam sheet / Foamex / Komacell, it's a firm foam all the way through:

I got this wanabee architects officesupply shop around the corner they have all kinds of plastic/wood/metal and foam plates and profiles a diy Valhalla. :y:

btw what kind of plastic sheet would be usable for diy suspension arms?

Nylon, POM, PVC, Polyamid, Lexan.

edit: I found some plates that came out of old 19'' TFT maybe I can use those.

I've used delrin on crawlers and scalers to make suspension links and chassis. I'm sure this could also be used for suspension arms

:y: so POM it is :cheer:

POM (Polyoxymethylene) also available under the brand name Delrin,is an engineering thermoplastic used in precision parts requiring high stiffness, low friction and excellent dimensional stability.

Now the trick is to find some 8mm cheap  give me an E, a B .....
