Hello,
Been off the board for about a year, but these stay at home orders in California have given me the chance to catch up on some projects. I am currently restoring my original Tamiya F1 Lotus. The original body had long since (35+ years) been committed to the dumpster. Years ago I purchased a reissued #49222 Lotus 79 hard plastic body parts set for the project. I was surprised to find that, instead of furnishing an aluminum rear wing support and endplates (as was done on the original release back in 1980), I was given templates to fabricate my own. I do not even remotely possess the ability, tools, or materials to create these pieces. I'm hoping that someone out there has an aluminum rear wing support and endplates taking up space in a junk drawer. I guess I can stick another rear wing on the car, but it would be like painting a mustache on the Mona Lisa! My sincere thanks for your attention and consideration. |
