Introduced together with the Super Stock Type-T, this motor was Tamiya's first approved for Stock T23 classes. Tamiya was a little late with 23T Stock motors, but when they made them, they made them quite cheap compared to competing brands.
The Type-R motor has a bit more speed but a bit less torque compared to the Type-T. The performance difference is created by the brush design; different orientation and brush tension.
