Things just got realer. Starting with the 1/16 R/C sensation of the Tiger I Early Production, and then with the M4 Sherman 105mm Howitzer, Tamiya continues to develop its 1/16 R/C Tank Series. The third full-option kit to make its appearance is the U.S. Medium Tank M26 Pershing that fought during the end of WWII and throughout the Korean War. Tamiya keeps increasing its knowledge about R/C tanks and improving the realism of their movement and sound to make their appearance even more striking. Two-channel or four-channel RC unit is necessary to operate this kit. 7.2V Tamiya Racing Pack (or equivalent) and charger are also required. Model Characteristics This is the 1/16 electric radio-control assembly kit of the U.S. Medium Tank M26 Pershing that made its appearance during the end of WWII. Despite its large scale, the model has been thoroughly and accurately reproduced. 2 Control Unit included for the function and sound effects: • T-06 DMD Control Unit • MF-03 DMD Multi Function Unit Not only can the model move forward and backward and turn with a great sense of power, but the turret can be rotated and the gun raised and lowered. Recoil of the gun and movement of the hull during shooting are also perfectly reproduced and synchronized. The sound of the engine has been recorded from a real Ford GAF Liquid cooled V8 engine, the metallic clanking sound of the tracks and the sound of the shooting of the main gun adapt to the model's movement. Moreover, this kit features headlights and brake lamps that light-up and main gun and front machine gun that flash. About the Engine Sound The sound of the engine was digitally recorded from a real Ford GAF liquid cooled V8 engine of the M26 Pershing at the Ropkey Armor Museum. All the variation of sound of the real engine but also all the metallic clanking of the track has been thoroughly recorded. Correction The instructions for "Preparing for Operation" on page 2 of the Operations Manual has been replaced with these instruction. Please refer to these instructions for recharging battery. Charging battery is required before operation. Charge battery after detaching from the model. Remove screws from right and left driver's hatches, then lift the front upper hull 1cm to take the battery out. When detaching battery, be careful not to misplace cables to avoid hindering turret rotation or other movement. When charging, follow the instructions supplied with battery and charger. Visual Effect When firing, muzzle flashes, speaker roars and recoil gearbox retracts gun barrel, then slowly returns it to standard position. In addition to this function, the hull itself recoils by running gearbox movement. Machine gun is also linked with sound and flash Headlights and brake light can be turned-on via controls. Running Performance Assembled gearbox w/two type 380 motors drives die-cast sprockets. High power provides exciting running. Suspension is damped by springs for smooth running and excellent manoeuvrability. Main Action Forward/reverse, turning and pivot turning can be controlled at every speed. The engine sound changes from idling to full throttle. Turret can be rotated 360 degrees and main gun can be moved between 10 degree depression and 15 degree elevation with realistic sounds. Moving speed can be controlled vis transmitter stick. Sound Effect This kit uses digitally recorded Ford GAF liquid-cooled 8 cylinder engine sound of full-size Pershing. Track clanking sounds are also added for heightened realism. Speaker unit installed on the rear hull produces realistic and awesome sounds. Large-size body overflows with realistic detail. Jerry cans, ammunition and ration cases are loaded as accessories. Movable gun travel lock is positioned on the rear hull/ Require(Not Incl.) • 4Ch Radio (w/ a self neutral function) • Tamiya 7.2V Battery • R6/AA/UM3 Batt (x8) for Transmitter
