Few Tamiya models can compete with the Clod Buster when it comes to "prescience". The massive chassis and even more impressive wheels makes the Clod a model to respect. The Clod Buster, nicknamed “Clod”, started a Monster Truck craze in the late 80’s where Tamiya was first, and many other makes followed. As a design, the Clod introduced 4-wheel-steering as a first for Tamiya. It’s 4WD driven by two RS540 motors mounted on each gearbox/axle assembly. During the production run (ending in 2003) the Clod lost it’s Chevrolet badges. The badge was removed from the front grille and the embossed “Chevrolet” on the rear lid was removed. Also, reference to Chevy on the decals were removed. The Chevy-badged models are now sought after by collectors.
