I wish to repaint the black standard wheels on my Subaru STI with a TS spray paint, champagne/gold. Do I need to do any prep. work before applying the new colour? Many thanks.

You hve to clean thems and the best is to put a layer of primer before the paint.

I agree and if you are going with a light colored top coat, use a light/white colored primer.
