Here's a website that I think is worth mentioning :

Tamiyaresource

They have great aftermarket stuff for some vintage models.
And developing new parts also...

Especially recommended to take a look if you have a Scorcher, Willy, Blackfoot or Monster Beetle.
Good guys too - big time Tamiya supporters...

How long have these people been about? (I tend not to look at shops outside the UK cos of the nuisance with import duty etc). They have some cool bits but their offerings are a little sparse

I'm currently informing about more details on the shop and any developments take might be taking place.
Same guy from the site co-runs the Dutch Tamiya forum...
But I think he has a lot on his hands at the moment so I'm curious how much energy can go into expanding the stock.
I see the potential though. B)

Yes, definately. It would be nice to see someone supplying repro/hop up parts for the vintage Tamiyas all in one place, the more difficult to source bits, for those of us who don't mind it's not original & want to see the car complete. eg Kamtec do repro Hilux windows & SRB radio boxes (As well as the more popular vintage shells), & RC4WD do Hilux/Blazer drivers & other bits, plus ebay member ant1969hill does resin repros of bits including a Blazer body (Been trying to convince him to do bumper/grille & radio box lid for my Quattro, but nothing yet)

I can report that he also makes a motor mount for the Sand Rover with which you can run a 540 motor...
And that he's interested in any suggestions the members here might have.
I think we'll be seeing an increasing amount of options in the (near) future. :cheer:

How could you think that hadn't crossed my mind yet? ;)
Of course I was immediately thinking about the CVA rear upper shock mount adapter.
Fancy word too.

Not an eBay tip (think we could use a new category maybe?)...

I took this from the first post of course...
Guess the topic was meant to be the first one in the new section that was simultaneously being created. :silly:

Is he fabricating the bits or buying in & redistributing?

He does the fabrication himself...

So, say he was supplied with drawings of something someone wants, would he do "one-offs" or is he planning to concentrate on just popular stuff? (I'm assuming you're in contact with him...)

I kinda know him - through the Dutch forum. But I haven't met him in person yet.
So I couldn't tell you exactly if that might be interesting for him...
But I could imagine that (more) mainstream items would have more appeal.
I reckon most of the work will go into the initial programming/translation of the drawing.
You'd have to discuss specifics with him - maybe through a pm on Tamiyabase.

Monster_Beetle

Or he might log on to give a reply in the topic...
Just found out today that he has this website although I had seen someone here getting some of his merch through TC.
Told him I liked was he was fabricating and that I'd give the goodies a plug here. :)

Edit - for some reason the pics on the front page are down and the members overview can't be reached.
So the link above won't work at the moment...

@eddrick : I'll send him a message tomorrow with a general question about this in any case and report back.
