I have only one lipo on my slash 4x4 a 3s 5000mah. My charger is a imax b6. You are right when you say that the running time is longer. But I don't know if the life time is so longer. I don't run a lot. And I don't want to have to buy a stick each time I want to run. We have almost the same age and we ran with same aqs.

I here that but ive never had to replace a lipo unless ive run it to low which was my own fault or damaged it. I unfortunately sold all my nicd and other stuff when I got into drones and why I like the lipos is with 6 of them I can just alternate the packs. Wasn't one of the traxxas esc known to explode very violently due to traxxas mixing up a wire in there systems.? I wish I had my old stuff then I could do a good comparison for us.

Ah Thanks, I already have aluminum hexes as well I will grab the pinion set as that a good idea, I dont do crazy driving or competition, I just like to go bash or run a parking lot on the weekends. I will do a search for that PDF sheet.

My understanding and experience is under heavy driving the plastic can round out but on the flip side I've seen the metal ones chew out rims ...ive always used aluminium.

Aloy hexs have the advantage that when wheeles are too tighten, you can still remove the hex and they don't break.
Second advantage, that is a relatively cheap option with a very cool style |

^^^ that, + thirdly, most alloy hexes clamp on via an M2 screw so when you take the wheel off, the hex stays on the shaft, instead of sticking to the wheel & causing the pin to fall out & get lost
