This is the final step, I promise!
Decaling has started. As mentioned earlier in this thread, I got some very good decals from Screenprintdigital. They are, unfortunately, no longer available due to Tamiya's quest to make life hard for us who restore their old models.... Anyway, the decals I used were very good, and came on two sheets. One transparent and one white with pre-cut decals. Using pre-cut decals for the first time, I concluded that I actually prefer to cut them myself. The pre-cut was nice and accurate, but positioning the decals was harder when just peeling them off the backing. Here is the front done: And here all the decals are done. Then the final few steps to complete the chassis: Mount the front lights Mount the interior, supported by the roof mounted rear lights. And finally the screw-on exhaust and wires/bulbs for the front lights. The hardest part was actually mounting the body! One have to pull it over the front inner bumper and then pull/push/pray to get it down over the front and at last the rear body mounts, without damaging the paint. After some nervous attempts, here it is, the complete Porsche 959: I hope you enjoyed this thread, and liked the final result. Thanks guys!
Yes, a big relief to get it done. Before the resto started 3 years ago, I already then feared painting the body. Signature now gets correct formatting if you edit it in your Profile. Use normal BBcode if you want.
