Very impressive Tamiya Madrid! I am about to start a restoration myself of my old Mountaineer. I build this thing maybe 20 years ago and since then it was asleep in a box in my parent's basement. I just got it back and decided to restore it. I have no clue where to start. The transmission needs to be either replaced or cleaned up apparently the rubber joints melted inside the transmission! Anyways, here are a few pictures, it's my first time on this forum (just signed up) and I am looking for any advice on where to start or where to buy parts. Thanks for your help!

Hi pichpich

Tamiya reissued the bruiser, this means that many parts are identical.
for example ..... three plugs gearbox, bumpers, screws and nuts ..... etc.
you should start with the chassis. Polishing, degreasing, parts adjustment, electronica ....
I would leave (to go forward) the car body submerged in brake fluid, dot 4 (paint jobs are the most unpleasant).
If you need help ....my bad English and I will be here. :)

Thank you so much! Muchas gracias amigo! I found a guy who filmed the restoration of his Bruiser so that is going to help. Unfortunately he only uploaded part of the restoration but it will be a huge help. Here is his video:

he is on this forum as well, I sent him a message to see if he has anymore videos of the restoration.
I will keep you posted on my progress.
Best,
Pichpich

Stunning work. I have a completed/restored Bruiser and new built Mounty as well. Only thing is both are unpainted as I am a realist...and the reality is i cannot spray/detail a body anywhere near the finish you have done!

BTW...anyone out there in South Africa that can???
