Thanks Al. I really love the xr311. You have work but not impossible. Several of us can help you for the body if you need.
Note for later: I need a xr311. |

Cheers Stingray.
I think the body can be brought back. I’ve started trying to break it down, but the PO used a ton of glue on every joint. So it’s a case of it’s going to get worst before it gets better. I need to pull the body apart because it hasn’t been painted. It’s just the unfinished plastic.

Okay time to update this build.
So it was time to break down the half of an XR311 that I had bought. Time to clean bits up and assess what were the best bits compared with the accumulation of material from my Cheetahs. Apologies for the mess, you've got bits of my second Cheetah body there, tyres in glycerin and tyres drying off in the back ground. And an empty beer glass. A bit of cleaning and polishing. I'd never heard of Autosol until reading some of Jonny's builds, but that's what has been used here. It's great stuff. Some metal bits waiting for a final polish. |

Here's an update on the body shell.
I started breaking it apart to fix it. A bit of a contradiction there, but the back end was in a bad way and if I want to do a half decent paint job then it needs pulling apart. So here it is in bits. Since the re-release I know I can get hold of the bits to restore it. Otherwise I don’t think I’d have even been so brave. When I got it, it was in one piece and didn’t look too bad. But the PO hadn’t painted it. This is the worst part so I’m trying to clear away as much crap as possible and fix the breaks. And the front end. A few broken off bits, but I’ll attempt to fill in the gaps.
