Porsche 934 on Ebay! 12 years 11 months ago #1071

For some reason, I always do a search for "Tamiya 934" on ebay, whenever I am there. I don't know why because I have the 58001, and the Black reissue 934, but still, I do...

Anyway, this one came up on top of my list today:

I know, it's allowed to have a go, but USD 1500??
No bodyparts?
From a guy selling for a friend?
With a feedback of +10 (with a total of "1" selling feedback for an item of USD 4,95...)

I don't know...

How did I not find that? But search terms (like Tamiya 934) don't give any result...
Something's definitely weird about it - first of all the picture cannot be enlarged.
And when you click on what he offers for sale, there's no result either.

Maybe he's hoping somebody will actually be stupid enough to place that bid.
He also refers to this in the accompanying text.

I'd rather stay about a million miles away from this one.

I am not the one to make an estimate about the worth of this particular car but I'd advise some patience...
Personally I would not bid on this eBay item.
The story sounds a bit off and it's a lot of money for a car that's far from complete.

Good luck with the search though!

I'll go with Edou on this, the auction seems suspicious.

Regarding value, its, hard because of the lousy picture, but a good 934 chassis would be around USD 200 ??
Also, think about what it would tell about a seller if the item is listed at USD 1500, but the seller agreed to sell for USD 200...

I think it's weird that if someone's not ready to sell something, he then puts it on eBay.
Also strange that he would rebuild the car himself since the text says he's selling it for a friend.
And $200 is not the price of any good used RC car.
With a bit of patience and searching you can buy a very nice used car for about 50-70 dollar...
Not a 58001 - but it is very well possible to buy a good looking vintage for that money.

Although I can see that he has lowered the price to 750 it still is an outrageous price.
Point is, it is the body of the 58001 that is most valuable. Still, his chassis has the correct MSC, hence my USD 200 estimate.

Again, based on the pricing philosophy and the sellers explanation, I would still say STAY AWAY!

It's just too weird...
