Watch out! It's a mean Tamiya monster!



I noticed I used the wrong method for resizing the pics in the previous post so they don't look exactly like they should...
Obviously still need to sort out all the settings on the car a bit. Also finished the details (edges) on the shell :

I'll have to find an affordable airbrush first and wait on shiny weather too.
But I think it will be anthracite metallic with silver 'swooshes' on the sides.
And definitely a bigger wing with a different colour.

Hmmm, a poison green with black swooshes (fit to the wheels) would also be a interesting combi

Sounds very cool indeed...
But that's more or less the plan for the Dirt Trasher shell.
If possible, I want to do a flipflop (chameleon) camo-like paintjob on that one.
So the colour will change depending on the angle of the light that hits the body.

Then i was go to flip-flop camo spots with black base coat

Sounds like a plan. Admitting that I'm a newbie when it comes to the airbrush.
But practice makes master! Hopefully...

I've given the front end a bit more height by changing the hole I'm using on the suspension arms.
On the picture above it's easy to see it's actually a bit too low...
Now the arms are slightly pointing downward.
I'll probably go for some 90mm GPMs at a later point.

Also looked around a bit for an alternative (bigger) wing.
I remember that the Ansmann that tamiya nut put on his Manta Ray with Terra Conqueror body looked pretty good.
But I don't really want to put on one from a competitive brand...
So I think I'll choose a 1/8 Pro-line wing. Like the shape also.


Btw - it will not have the extreme 'Pro-line' on it in my vision.
Could also be an item without markings from another brand. I've seen nice ones by 3Racing and YR too.

A Tamiya Spray-Work. How cool is that!

So all I need to get started is some paint and a bit of sunshine.
And I've been having serious brainstorms about a chameleon camo paint job.
Not the other way around (the term) 'cause that would sound like Culture Club too much...

Already had these badass looking rims lying around for a while :



And today I did a trade-in for the most awesome matching boots I could think of :



I'll glue them in a little while but do a testfit soon.
Don't worry guys, I'll do a (close to) original build for the third chassis...
This one's just hoppin' off the map.
