Did a little work on the wing again :

By now it's been fully primed but today it started raining so my spraying booth (big balcony) is out of order... :(

On the top of the picture is a vintage aluminium buggy shock tower.
As you can still see, it used to be (very) gold.
Thinking it looks best in black with the whole scheme of the car, this will be painted too.
Maybe with some carbon look decals on it... B)

Pretty cool to be able to fit some vintage alloy shock towers on the Ray.
The one in front will remain silver I think - with the necessary touches of blue.

Sorry the pic is a bit out of focus.

There's an unavoidable turn in the tail

Alright guys, I've decided to really involve both chassis in the thread.

With one I'll show the rebirth of a Manta Ray and with the other the most incredibly hopped up chassis ever.
That way it will all still be vintage! Just with modern upgrades...

The remaining parts are slowly arriving :

A beautiful new Manta Ray ball diff for example! :woohoo:
The hardened DF-03 turnbuckles are just gorceous...
Hope the parts to fit them for camber and toe adjustment come in soon.

And even a few more cool surprises. This vintage 53164 carbon gear shaft set will go in the Ray :

One more carbon item is coming this way - I'll show that one when it has arrived.

There should be two beautifully finished TA01/DF-01 rebuilds soon...

The great majority of parts is in now! :woohoo:
It was a good day for hop up delivery. Here's the overview :

The two items on the right came from a German supplier.
A long sought-after on road carbon front shock tower, together with some beautifully crafted 850 ball bearings.

This carbon hop up is one of the coolest items ever. The chassis had one for the rear already.
But I had to get a link from a Dutch forum member to finally obtain a front fitted specimen.
This shop had some good looking 850s too :

Four of these (either chrome or blue) will go with the alloy steering assembly in the middle.
It is delivered with four nylon bearings and I had no choice but to order something special for it.
All came in the same day! :cheer:

On the left (of the upper picture) are two silver alloy modified main drive shafts. B)
The Manta Ray will get one of these since the main theme is silver. Of course with the necessary cool blue details...
Also it will have to handle more power (17T vs 23T) and a modified fit would therefore be better than a dogbone style.
The second drive shaft is for the guy that personally delivered the whole Cayenne set up to me. It will grace his Humvee.

Last but not least - the 17T Lrp motor also arrived! The propelling power for the MR2K11...

One thing left to come in are the fixings (ball ends - ball nuts - adjusters) for the turnbuckles.
These will be from the TRF generation. Then it will really be a time fusioned Manta Ray. :silly:

To keep the generations in balance, these are suddenly also options to be fitted :
