I should be working on a Reinforcing Plate soon which will fit over the front of the part A5 to stop it cracking.

If you go ahead with it, can I suggest using say 20swg stainless, not aluminium - there's a lot of leverage trying to splay-out those lower suspension pins, (Enough to bust resilient plastic), so I suspect thin/soft ally won't be up to the job.
From memory, there are 2x screws in the front of A5, ideally positioned for the securing of said reinforcing plate

Tamiya 0005300/X10111 - Thunder Shot Part A5 Always Cracks?
Any of you guys have a Thunder Shot, Thunder Dragon, Terra Scorcher or Fire Dragon and are fed up of buying the A Parts over and over to replace part A5? I will hopefully have a solution very soon with a Steel Reinforcement Plate that fits over the front of part A5 to stop it cracking. I have put them on eBay as a pre-order: www.ebay.co.uk/...0630213543 You can follow this on Tamiya Club also: www.tamiyaclub....opic=67514 Thanks Bob @ Model Build www.modelbuild.co.uk |
