I think that if you replace the hubs (C2) with 12mm hexes, you'll have a large selection of wheels to choose from. :y:
The rims will also need replacement then but it would be easier (and cheaper) than finding an alternative set of tyres...
Are you going to use them for running the car?

will 12mm hexes still fit like the old c2 plastic hubs & still allow it to be 4wd?

yeah i intend to run them.

Yes, you just put them on instead of the C2 part. :y:
12mm hex hubs are a very universal size - there are complete wheel sets for the price of a single pair of original tyres.
Ideal for turning them into rubber vapour.
Only thing you have to look into, is the total offset the wheels will get.
But I think that won't amount to a mechanical problem on the Thunder Shot quickly but just a difference in looks...

Best upgrade you could do are some alloys with grub screw.
Although you may want to get a nice quality 1.5mm hex driver along with that.
But some basic plastic hexes should also work.
I'd have a set of these for you at postage only. :y:
They tend to wear fast though and losing the tiny pin when you take off the wheel is a frequently occuring situation.

These are the hexes I like most :

Just please don't get the Racing Punk item... :S

Edit - here's a European shop for the GPMs :

These look like a very good (cheap) alternative for the hexes :

HSP wheel hexes

I know they make nice quality tyres too but I'd have to do a more extensive search.
What's the (most outer) diameter of the original wheels?
A picture of the inside of the rim could also help to find a good match...

the most outer diameter of the wheel is 52mm.
i like the hexes, i'll get some of those.

heres some photos of the wheel.

At 52mm rim O/D, High-lift (Hilux, F350, Tundra) & CC-01 tyres (Wrangler, Pajero, Mu-X etc) should fit, they might be a bit narrow though - what width are the 'shot wheels?
Grasshopper, Frog etc will definately be too small, Hotshot etc too big (I think). Does anyone know what size the DT wheels are? I wouldn't mind betting lunchkin/mad bull etc are somewhere near either, they're certainly bigger than Hopper & smaller than 2.2s

I'd be amazed if you couldn't pick up a cheap set of Thunder-wotsit wheels & tyres though, maybe you should look for whole basketcase cars instead of just tyres? - The whole reason I didn't list mine for so long was cos the whole cars were only making about 15 quid at the time...

Picturing a Thunder-Beetle on Highlift tyres now.... cool
