I like the "pieces" option - if it exists only in bits, you can't crash it!
Just been reading about the meister's 9t 'hopper & as much as I hope it doesn't happen, I suspect it's gonna be truly spectacular when it does hit something - akin to my old SRB - "eeeeeeee -BANG- silence & bits....."

Ripped some stickpacks apart to do some measurements ;)
(no worry, they are all EOL)

- Panasonic High Amp NiCd 1200
casing: 41.7 ttb: 42.6
- Conrad NiMh 2400
casing: 42.3 ttb: 42.9
- Team Orion 5100 NiMh
casing: 43.5 ttb: 44

not on the picture
- Tamiya gold racing pack 1700 NiCd
casing: 41.0 ttb: 42.5
- Conrad racing pack NiCd 2000 (with 1.6 spacer rings? only pack that has those)
casing: 41.5 ttb: 42.2

ttb top to bottom

these are just some indications did not take into account that the bottoms are slightly rounded, but I shows how the cells are growing on us.

So they're getting longer... any change in diameter?
If so, it would be even stranger that I have more trouble fitting the NiCads than the 5Ah LRP NiMH.
Although I think the trick is in the thickness of the Conrad covers of my batteries...
Have to say it would be nice if they were a bit thinner but stronger as well - and more heat resistant for that matter.

All cells got 22 without any wrapping except for the 5100 that has 22.8.

The older ones got about 22.6 with plastic or cardboard wrapping thats without the outer shrinkwrap.

Thanks, I got some older (and expired) ones too that I'll measure.
Most of my NiCads are Sanyo btw.

Edit - so they got a bit fatter as well...

Hopefully no BANG. Throttle dual rates. Rate 1 streets and track. Rate 2 balls out Walmart parking lot.

Haha, "Rate 2 = Walmart carpark" - does that mean completely mad, unwashed & unpredicatable?
Haven't got any Walmart around here, but from pics I've seen I guess it's a lot like Swaffham market.
Another good one I heard was "As mad as a box of frogs"

Unwashed, unpredictable and at 2am 7 acres of smooth, well lit emptiness. We race around light polls. Lots of precision drifting.
Edou, I have 2 Hobbyking lipo "stick packs" that fit perfectly in my sons Clod.

Sounds like heaven!
Nearest thing we've got is either work's carpark (Small) or Tesco carpark on a Sunday night, but the oldies would have you arrested for sneezing in the wrong direction there
