Midnight Pumpkin 58070 Replacement Shocks 11 years 7 months ago #12815

Hi guys.

Just wondering what the best length shocks are for all around on the Pumpkin/Lunchbox above?

I'm thinking about the Ansmann aluminium shocks but the non adjustable ones.
I like the truck to sit neater on the front shocks so there is a better camber for some flat road tyres (Modified Road Rage 2's, Proline). Would 75mm be best or can I fit shorter 55mm?

I will get around to doing the 5th shock mod and will use a 55mm when I do this but I would be greatful for any hints.

I did have a search but the results didn't come back with many size guides.

Thank in advance.
Rob

In have 80mm shocks on the front of my Lunchbox & it has the usual camber on it at full extension ... doing some quick compression tests suggests 75mm would give neutral camber, 65mm would give you silly (F1/BTCC levels  ) camber. 55mm would be far too short & just wouldn't work.

Perfect.
75mm it is then along with some fixing parts. Need to mark up and dig the dremmel out to prep the gear box/axle mount for the 3rd shock.

Cheers

The shock mount braces (part BS1, #9805082) are provided within the shaft parts bag #9400296. They should be still available due to the Lunchbox and Midnight Pumpkin re-releases. Take a look at the Lunchbox manual (p. 17) to see how the oil shocks have to be installed:

Part number for the "big bag" is 9400296 though. Small typo. ;) :y:
