Which hole to use for the motor mount - and what's the difference?
No mention of it in the leaflet. Only that the motor is 0 degree timing.

I just chose the one on the right...

Normally you have to use the counterpart hole. It doesn't matter which one you're using.
I'm lucky that my motor has 2 holes 'cause as you can see on my honda nsx thread, i had a hard problem, mounting the motor because of the small 16T Pinion gear. It's now mounted with first hole from left above and first hole from the left at the bottom - not the counterpart.
It's working and drivin. But hey, the maingear of ta05 is loud!

You would use the two across from each other.

Thanks for the feedback. Yes, I've used a pair that matched opposite-wise. :y:
Be it the other ones from those marked above...
I was just wondering if there's any effective difference.
Seemed to be convenient on funkindemup's TA05 altough I don't think that's the official explanation. ;)
If it doesn't matter, then why not make one hole?

They are there to give you more options for the pinion size's when working in conjunction with the gear box mountings :)
If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem mate :)

I was just visualising how it could have a slight effect on how close the pinion hits the spur.
Think I chose the "tight" option...

Edit - or maybe not.

the left holes are for positioning the motor on the gear box plate and the right ones for tightening it in place. B)

I think it's to calibrate this a little bit 'cause of cable connections (or decal of motor ;)). Maybe there are motor mounts with 4 holes?

I've got the next silly question: If the gear ratio is the same, is there any different using a huge or small pinion gear? For eg on ta01 you can setup 8:1 ratio with a 20T/66T or 21T/69T or 22T/74T.
IS the smaller pinion better for motor on an offroad track?
