Normally you have to use the counterpart hole. It doesn't matter which one you're using.
I'm lucky that my motor has 2 holes 'cause as you can see on my honda nsx thread, i had a hard problem, mounting the motor because of the small 16T Pinion gear. It's now mounted with first hole from left above and first hole from the left at the bottom - not the counterpart. It's working and drivin. But hey, the maingear of ta05 is loud!

Thanks for the feedback. Yes, I've used a pair that matched opposite-wise.
Be it the other ones from those marked above... I was just wondering if there's any effective difference. Seemed to be convenient on funkindemup's TA05 altough I don't think that's the official explanation. If it doesn't matter, then why not make one hole? |

They are there to give you more options for the pinion size's when working in conjunction with the gear box mountings
If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem mate

I think it's to calibrate this a little bit 'cause of cable connections (or decal of motor ). Maybe there are motor mounts with 4 holes?
I've got the next silly question: If the gear ratio is the same, is there any different using a huge or small pinion gear? For eg on ta01 you can setup 8:1 ratio with a 20T/66T or 21T/69T or 22T/74T. IS the smaller pinion better for motor on an offroad track? |
