I found some old R/C CAR ACTION magazine vintage Tamiya tests!
One is for the Tamiya MOUNTAINEER in 1993! I also found the magazine tests for original vintage Tamiya; Holiday buggy, Rough Rider, Sand Scorcher VW Golf[1982] The B2B SIDECAR I think I still have the tests for the Renault RE5[1982] and the Toyota Hilux[1983]somewhwere? I also found one for the KYOSHO/COX Scorpion! I could copy off a test for someone or 'maybe' sell the[each] entire magazine??? I found a stack of old R/C car mags from 1989-1990's. I also have a USA-regional Tamiya DEALERS ONLY PARTS and SERVICE MANUAL binder!!! This dealer service manual is huge, its like 4inches thick[10cm]!!! This is the service manual all hobbyshops used to look up or order parts for your car from. These were only given out to shops who were on the official Tamiya dealers list. It has pics-parts break-downs for each car from like the Hornet[1985] up to 2000? So if anyone might need any scans/ copies or tech info....I might have it in this crazy huge book. Let me know. |

THANKS guys!
I'm not sure how to do any PDF files scans of the mags?? But that would the best way for everyone. Or this crazy huge dealer book too??? The mags have full page color pics[into of the car] and then tell the story behind each car and the build. The builds are all in B&W print. Th MOUNTAINEER test has a 2page color pictorial of it. They have a large section on just how they painted the body. It does look nice. They even talk about going too fast and flipping it and jinging up the body!! Then it tells about horror stories of guys taking the tranny apart[the mag called up Tamiya and asked]! I guess Tamiya had no idea anyone would do this[yeh us Americans can't help ourselves!]. BUT they can't help you, you would have to buy a complete unit! If you guys have any ideas on how to do any PDF files....let me know. |

If you have a scanner, there's no problem converting those jpg's to pdf using free utilities. Just google "make pdf from jpg" or something like that. As for the large book, the biggest problem is to scan it, because it's hard to open the book enough to make the pages lay flat on the scanner bed, not even mentioning the work and time this involves. One solution is to cut off the binding and use a scanner with a feeder, but the will of course damage the book. I can help you with any of this (minus manually scanning the book page by page....). I have a copier with feeder that could scan it directly to pdf. Only catch, I live in Norway Tom |
