100mm Servo Rod 2 years 4 months ago #69498

I'm looking for servo rod.
It's shown as Part # MC2 Adjustable (servo) Rod, which is 100mm long (excl. thread and 'dog-leg') and comes from:   9415246 - Metal Parts Bag C
tamiyabase.com/...Itemid=775
Which is from the M-02L chassis.

Without spending hours going through the all of the parts bag lists/manuals, does anyone know what other models used the same length rod?

Cheers,

Has it got to be an original part? If not I used a bicycle spoke, but it to size and threaded the end for the cup or you could just put the bend in it.
Regards

I like that idea.  Now to find an old bike wheel.  And it gives me a reasonable excuse to finally get a die set.

Doesn't need to be an original part, as I won't be using any of the original bodies.

You can also use threaded tube as used in crawlers and scale trucks as some of them are 6-7mm thick with 3mm threads.
Setscrews in both ends, rod ends and Bob is you uncle

Or just buy some threaded rod and some z pliers to bend.

Another alternative is to use Do-Bro #802 4-40 (2.85mm ish) pushrod which are 305mm long with threads in one end.
Use fresh Tamiya rod ends if you do this as the threads in not equal to mm regarding the thread count.
Your loclal model plane shop should carry these, or order them for you.

I have also used 3mm allthread cut to length and then sleeved them with 4mm brass or aluminium tube.
Those tubes are usually 3.2mm inside.
5x3 carbon tube is also possible if you want them to look a bit fancy.

And lastly the 959/Celica steering rod might also be at that length.

M05 steering rod might also be what you are looking for.

10cm is that between rod ends or total length of the rod?

Traxxas #8246 is 117mm in total which gives about 100mm between rod ends when they are threaded on.

Thanks guys. Saves me time looking for alternatives.

The 100mm is the "setup" length in the manual. So yeh the actual rod length would be closer to 120.
