Yesterday I found the following items in a box of parts that I bought

does anyone know what it is? it looks like a control unit for an actuator from a 1/14 truck or maybe something like a 1/16 tank?

 

The two microswitches are probably from a Tamiya Leopard A4.
I had one like this in the 80s but replaced them with a mechanical regulator.

Yes they are the micro switches from the first 2 tanks the Sherman and the Leopard.

A couple of the earliest tanks used this in place of a mechanical speed control for simple forward and reverse switching.  Here are a couple of images from the 56001 manual: Your version is mounted on its own plate apart from the chassis which marks it as coming from the 56002 Leopard A4.

I'm sure to have some of these switches in an electronical parts box.
