Hi guys,

Just wanted to let everyone know I have a problem with my wifi so I won't be on line until I figure that out...
Posting this at my neighbour's as a heads up.
Hope to be back soon.

Cheers,
Edo

Stil no luck. Not sure what's going on...
It's not the wireless adapter itself at least.
Posting this at the internet "cafe" (it's actually a copyshop).
Quite annoying this problem, really.

did you test your interenet connection with a direct cable connection to the router or just wireless?

Thanks guys, it's actually something really really weird. :S
Some critical windows files are suddenly inexplicably missing...
Still not solved.

Not that inexplicable - lots of viruses/malware do that ... not sure why, a PC no longer connected to the internet isn't much use for capturing passwords or becoming a spambot

If I was trying to fix it I'd be downloading the following to a USB stick off a clean PC, starting your PC in safe mode, running each in turn (full scan/all options enabled), backing up your files from your now theoretically clean PC, then trying a repair install of your OS to get the net ability back ... though that will depend on just what your OS is:

Malwarebytes Anti-Malware (www.malwarebytes.org)

Spybot Search & Destroy (www.spybot.info)

AlternateStreamView (search on www.nirsoft.net)

Trend Micro Rootkitbuster (trendmicro.com)

Good luck with it :)

The ONLY tool I use is the free Avast antivirus: www.avast.com/index

Good, reliable and effective.
Signature now gets correct formatting if you edit it in your Profile. Use normal BBcode if you want.
www.tamiyabase.com was formatted automatically.

Apparently there's some corkers floating about at the moment, the servers at work are in chaos, it's a daily event digging out virus related stuff & getting it all working again.
McAfee Stinger is a handy tool, & they keep it up to date.

In my experience though, MS updates seem to do more damage than any virus!

Wireless is a funny thing anyway, cos you can't actually see what's going on, what's connected to who etc, it's all theoretical. With the number of numpties (Like me) with wireless nowadays, there must be a whole pile of people connected to their neighbour's routers rather than their own, & it only takes that neighbour to change their security settings to render you offline, if you're unknowingly connected to their box

HI!... That's why my routers password is 72 characters long. lol! My neighbours were stealing mine. If I'm paying $80 a month for internet their not stealing it for free! I just upgraded too. I'm now getting 30.0MBPS download and 2.05MBPS upload, Much faster than my old 14.0MBPS. But TamiyaBase still loads slow for me for some unknown reason?
