rc switch kits from olds servos 10 years 8 months ago #24264

you may have read my hsp warhead brushless build and saw that i have made an rc switch from an old servo
you all will have an old servo with busted gears lying around the place
i have a board design for kits so it will be easy to make
rc switch ( click to view in 3D )

should i make these kits and sell them? i just designed this in a few minutes the next versions will be smaller
i will need some money to get started as well i might do this like a kickstarter thingy

I think it's a great initiative. B)

A while back I looked around for a simple switch module for the lights on my third transmitter channel...
But backed away because of the prices at the basic level even (several dozens of euros).
If you can make it more affordable, I'd be very interested.

In any case, I can really appreciate the clever stuff you've been into. :y:

i checked the prices
caps + diodes $3 don't know the postage
board + header + postage $15 ish

a great idea, good luck with it. You can also use a 4013 chip (example here - www.laureanno.c...tekmod.htm) if you don't have any old servos available, but you need some other components so its not as cost effective,

who hasn't got old servos lying around the place?
they don't need to have busted gears, you could use stock servos from rc cars
i could use a chip but this way is probably the easiest and cheapest

agreed, using a servo is much easier. Also what I find odd is the ic chip used in the servo is quite often dearer to buy than a servo. I tend to go and make it all only because I like to tinker (and I don't have to make many!),

cool
i will keep tweaking the board design, when i get it perfect i will get some sent off and made then i will sell kits the prices might be like this:
  • blank board, no parts $2
  • board with parts $5
  • board with parts soldered on $8
  • everything like with a servo not made $10
  • everything like with a servo made $13
those are just rough estimates once i make the kits i will know for sure. these prices don't include postage but they are small so postage will be like $3
with the servo ones i might use this servo

not sure if it has enough power though
