I have an OG Grasshopper II that I rediscovered recently. Despite needing some TLC, it's in pretty good condition. The worst was some broken-down rubber wrapping and brittle electrical tape. The body is in great shape but getting brittle around the edges. Because of this, I want to replace it with something else.

I was hoping to find a Sand Rover-esque body. The typical 60's/70's glitter paint, roll bar, soft top kind of dune buggy. So far I can old find pricey original Sand Rover bodies and some aftermarket Traxxas ones. I was hoping to get some suggestions of something that might work. It could be new, vintage, abs, lexan, whatever. As long as it fits or I can mod to make fit. The biggest issue I see with that style is the height of the rear shocks/towers so this may not be possible. Because of this, I'm open to other vintage-style suggestions. Fire away. Thanks!

Have you tried to find a re-release Sand Rover body ? Granted they aren’t as plentiful as they used to be, but if you can find one they are a lot cheaper to buy than the original ones.
Try TTP ( Tony’s Tamiya Parts ) they are so helpful and may be able to tell you if the body shell is still in production.
Good luck, nice sounding idea.

The sand scorcher body fits on a grasshopper to. And they are relatively cheap for an abs body .

A Friend did it on a mashed up of gh1 ,hornet and academy chassis. He puted a sand scorcher lexan body with a after market rear body post. I don't know if I kept a pict of it.

The Sand Scorcher body is readily available , and looks very cool. It’s iconic.

Thanks for all the suggestions, some really good ones. @ stingray-63 - Love the idea of the blazing blazer body, my favorite suggestion so far. Love the idea of a Sand Scorcher, but already have the ReRe version of that. I have my eye on a couple of bodies on Yahoo Auctions Japan. The yen is so low right now that I could possibly find a good deal. Thanks all!
