This is my 3rd 959 in pieces. I'm going to build a shelfer over winter, and 2 others which I will play with, or possible sell. I also managed to get the wheel hubs off by lightly 'tapping' the wheel shaft through.

Lovely stinky bath!
An ultrasonic cleaner would be a good tool to have as well...

Just checked the prices for an ultrasonic cleaner on eBay... I think i'll be sticking to hot water and liquid cleaner for now!

Dunno if you have shops like Lidl or Aldi there but they sometimes have special offers for around 30 euro. :cheer:
Results are usually great. From what I've seen, that is - don't have one either... yet!

I've got an "Ultra 7000", they can still be had for 35 GBP (like this one on eBay).

You can't get every RC part in there, but it does cut out a lot of scrubbing. The best thing for me is letting it buzz away while I get on with something else :)

I didn't see that before :silly: .. I'd suggest a used toothbrush (or a new one, if it sounds a bit gross to some of you). It's a pretty good cleaning tool, especially for off-road vehicles, because it can remove mud or soil very easily from gears, heatsinks or other cooling systems, and suspension. A 2" paintbrush is also good, but mainly for dust and dirt. Those were my first cleaning tools :P , then I got an ultrasonic cleaner and an air compressor, but I still use a toothbrush. It's very handy.
The good modelist..

2) A good freestyler never forgets to take a cup of coffie.
3) A good patern pilot never forgets to take his camera.
4) A good car driver never forgets to take extra batteries.
5) A good beginner never forgets to take his tutor and some tissues. :P

Just spent an hour sanding with wet-n-dry where almost 90% of the nasty scratches and gouges have come out. Next is a primer coat and semi-gloss, then it's back in the showroom!

Continuing the resto where I got to the point where I had 'new' front and rear base plates, but the main undercarriage was still scratched... looking like a complete mismatch. It all came apart again, and I got to work on the scratches.

Applying the semi-gloss to the parts.
