I bought that yesterday. Will be my first restoration of that chassis type. Chassis parts seem in good shape, bodies not… lets see when paint is off.

Great is that I now have my old Acoms MK1 complete but motor and pinion gear are missing. Does anybody have a 540 motor with black end bell and a pinion gear? Or was is a motor with white end bell?

I realised I’ve let this thread slip a bit.

So here’s where I got to. I managed to get a NIP chassis set and a used wing from Rob.

Having read various threads I knew the windscreen glass and wiper blade ( !!! ) where going to be the sticking points of a complete shell.
So one Saturday this came up on a FB site.

I went for it and bought a NIB body set.
This Countach thing is getting out of hand.
My life would have been much easier if I’d kept the one I built in the 80’s.

Recently I also picked up a motor mount for the 58005 version.

I guess at the end of the day I might end up with 2 off these ??? That really wasn’t the plan.

I love these discovers. Always a pleasure to see these find. And rebuild vintages.

Good day today.

I finally got my delivery of the Countach. Surprise surprise, the motor with pinion was included although is was not on the pictures and seller could not find it.

So, no need to get a motor and a pinion.
But I was surprised that the motor is a Mabuchi but has a more yellow looking can and a white end bell.
I thought that the 58008 had a silver can 540 with black end bell.

Can anybody clarify what was the original motor for the 58008? I also noticed that the plastic gear is white and not black. So same question for that.
