Not usually a fan of these spacey/fantasy styled cars, but that looks fantastic!

Thanks guys, I was pleasantly surprised myself with how it came together.
Thinking I shouldn't spoil the look with too many decals...
And tbh, I think a TF shell looks better with a Manta Ray wing than with it's own!

Still quite a bit of work to do sorting out the fine details.
And now that it's fully dried, I'm not completely satisfied with the finish on the filling.

I think it needs a pair of miniguns on the sides, death-race style!

Haha, I was actually thinking myself this car could use a skull on the bonnet.

Oh yeah... one of those scary Ethiopian style cow skulls with horns....
Perhaps get some action figures draped over the bonnet in raped/mutilated poses!
Reavers, that's what I'm visualising - have you seen Serenity/Firefly?

I haven't seen that movie but one of them reavers would make an excellent driver. Kept the windows open for it...
I'd like to fiddle around some more with this shell but the car will be adopted by someone else soon.
So I'm gonna make it neat (mostly the windows still) and leave it basic.
Very happy with the new owner - a real Tamiya fan that'll put some nice miles on it.
And tbh much more capable in the body shop than myself.
I'm sure he'll put a nice twist to it...

But I'll certainly try to make a good photoshoot before that. :)

Paint had a few days to dry. Time to sort out the details...
Using "Commandant" (very fine liquid sanding paste) to clean up the windows.
But although this scrubbed off any residu, with my my crude approach I ended up making superficial scratches.
Guess it needs more attention than applying it directly and rubbing it out with a cloth and my finger.
So I put it on (repeatedly) and let it dry :

Then I use water and a soft attachment on the Dremel to polish it out. Coming along nicely. :)
Also glad to report that despite some rough handling, dremeling on the window edges and cleaning the shell a few times with a dishwashing brush and detergent, the paint's not budging anywhere at all.

T-Cut works fairly well on clear plastics - I used to use that on helmet visors, followed by a polish with brown paper/thin card

Reading wiki, it looks like that's more or less the same stuff I'm using. :)
Expensive btw - and the container's almost empty. Did a lot of FRP with it.

brown paper/thin card

What kind of stuff is that exactly?
