Obviously scraping with a blade will only remove paint etc, it won't fix cracks, BUT, depending on how bad the cracks are, they'll probably disappear when you put some new paint on (I'm assuming the body isn't so badly cracked that it's falling to bits?).
Try it anyway, if it's going in the bin anyway! You'll learn something from it anyway, ready for next time

hi all thanks for all comments :) great info from all i have just ordered from hong kong the Tamiya Polycarbonate Body Cleaner let you no how i get on with it when it arrives. a photo what i have done so far
