Hi
Im doing a little TL01 project and have got as far as i can before i need an esc for the silver can motor im running in it. I was wondering if anyone had a spare one they could sell me cheaply as i dont want to put a lot of money in to this. Id appreciate it if you could have a dig in your parts boxes it doesnt need to be anything fancy just a standard teu101 or similar will be super Thanks |

I haven't got any spare ones at the mo except an LRP AI Pro, but I'd be wanting sensible money for that.
BUT, if you look on Ebay, & find Mr Blacksmith products' shop, you'll see he's got some cheapy HSP ESCs - they appear to be exactly the same thing as HPI are putting their stickers on & charging twice the money for (They're generic chinese imports, & appeared on HSP stuff before HPI, so they're not a copy of something HPI). I've just (re)plonked one in my Bug Crusher, & with my Epic canned motor it's far better than the above LRP. It's auto-setup & is forward/brake/reverse. V simple, no frills or adjustability. Don't know what the turns limit is on them, but I CAN tell you it copes better with this Epic motor than a lot of my more expensive ESCs

yep, that's the kiddy.
I would suspect the 320A rating is very optimistic (Probably the sum total of destructive max ratings of all the FETs, similar to what Mtronics state for theirs). They're not the most efficient ESC & get quite warm with abusive driving. Having said that, they're used in HSP's Bug Crusher (& similar) which are 4wd, gearing way too high, running a high-torque motor & sitting on huge wheels. If it can cope with that, I'd say it will be on holiday in a TL with a silvercan

After Waterbok's post I had a quick scout about to see if the UK can offer them so cheaply.... Er, no. Best I found was 15 gbp inc p+p (Blacksmith products).
Minimum turns rating is 20, maximum normal forward running 20A. The 300A is the component break-down rating, as I suspected. Common sense really, there's no way you'd be poking 300A down that size wire & sticking 300A into ANY motor would be hilarious I'm sure! (Takes 70A to weld 6mm steel plate)
